Yeah, I already use the first choice, this is the only game I have ever seen do so. It's 99% likely because of GameGuard's trashy cheat security, I'm honestly hoping they ditch that monstrosity at NGS. I was somewhat shocked to see it tbh, I haven't seen any other game running that thing likely because circa 2010 I wan na t say. And of course things regarding matches should never be operating as admin, this has been common PC programming clinic since the Windows Vista era, we're way past this point and shouldn't even have to talk about it. Honestly I am surprsied MS allow the game launch on their shop with that prompt inside since they are partnered at the US ya know?
Thanks for the thoughts, if I'm not beginning Steam using admin style however , nothing using a web browser built in if ever do that it's a massive security hole sadly. Tbh I noticed that the PSO patcher really uses embedded online explorer to fill in it's bottom half, largely because of a script error that has been occurring on launch of the Steam build every time, that's really also a safety issue especially since IE never gets upgrades anymore.
Though I am glad I could get any overlay on today as it is on Steam formally, that way I could actually use the control, was not really quite doable about the MS Shop version. Talking of admin thoughit constantly asks for this before starting the match, did on the MS Shop version too, they really must fix that, I believe that is another GameGuard left too unfortunately.
But yeah GameGuard really needs to go. It's proven time and time again in the previous decade and a half it has been around, it does not keep cheaters out, it does not keep RMT robots outside, it breaks performance on real players' customer end, it also generates instabilities. By way of example, I can not utilize the alt-tab work from Steam input to jump out of this match together with the mat because GG cubes it. You also can not use push to talk buttons with outside apps like Discord for this. As for instabilities, I got a BSOD a couple of days into PSO2NA drama and was gritting my teeth, hadn't seen that BSOD type earlier, looked it up, and it had been, of course, something that was plaguing PSO players in Japan for years, and also gameguard connected, on the plus side at least my PC wasn't broken, lol.
And of course it permits mods through, Do not get me wrong, the PSO2 English patch the neighborhood did to the JP version for years is an amazing bit of work and I'm proud of these. Nonetheless, it sounds somewhat shaky as soon as your cheat security allows a client moddded having an unofficial patch like this in eh? ;-RRB- Clearly I would not encourage Sega actively obstructing that previously, but it goes to show just how unsuccessful and a hassle for actual players it's.
There is a very cheap PSO2 Meseta at https://www.pso2ah.com/
