Sports Gamers Online reported recently that EA Sports opted to cancel further updates to Madden NFL's Franchise modes. Madden's Franchise mode has proven to be a particular pain point for the game over the years. Fans have been wanting more substantial updates to the mode , and not always receiving what they would like.

GameSpot's Madden NFL 22 review praised the game, in large part because of its "meaningful changes" in the franchise mode, which includes new strategies for weekly play.

"No one game can ever be exactly alike, and Franchise can find an ideal balance where what you do off the field has beneficial effects on what you play on it, to the point that it has changed the way you're expected in every game," GameSpot reviewer Richard Wakeling said.

Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Mixon continues to rise during Madden NFL 22 following a spectacular Week 12 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mixon was able to see his overall mark increase from 90 to 92 in Thursday's update , due to a 165-yard two-touchdown game in a win of 41-10 against The Pittsburgh Steelers.
